SC Open Space gets real dirty

6/23/07

This e-mail was sent to me, today Sat by an
understandably upset SC resident.

Read what he writes.
Is this how electoral activism here is resolved,
by hired-gun goon squads intimidating law
abiding citizens?

Remember, the PGC project was originally
rejected by our city council. The mistake our
council made, was, in an act of fair play, giving
the bullying developer 60-days for a 2nd act.

In those 60-days, 1-councilman was persuaded
to change his vote - and now this -

goon-squads verbally harassing 'us' as we work
to further our right to a democratic process.

This is America - right? Or isn't it.

Read what follows. This is your town too.
Here's your chance to prove it.

Get serious neighbor - we don't need developer
hired goon squads intimidating our right to vote
on what is already ours - SC Open Space.

Please forward this memo to all concerned...

The Letter:

I know you have all heard that there is a petition being circulated around town to ask that a referendum be placed on the ballot to reverse the City Council's decision
to allow houses to be built on land that was designated as open space at Pacific golf. What you may not know is that the developer has hired goon squads to follow
those circulating the petition and to intimidate people from signing. They are SCREAMING at people as they approach the tables set up at local grocery stores
and people are now afraid to even come up and read the information on the petition. THIS IS UN-AMERICAN AND HAS NEVER BEEN DONE HERE IN SAN CLEMENTE.
YOU NEED TO IMMEDIATELY SEND AN E-MAIL TO ALL THE COUNCILMEMBERS PROTESTING THE GESTAPO TACTICS OF THE PACIFIC GOLF DEVELOPER.
ALSO PLEASE, PLEASE COME TO MY HOUSE TOMORROW BETWEEN 6 AND 8 PM TO SIGN THE PETITION. Meeting in private homes has
now become the only way that we can express our constitutional right of free speech on this issue! Please bring neighbors, friends and anyone else you can
think of to sign. They must be residents of San Clemente and registered to vote.

I live at 182 West Avenida Junipero (the corner of W. Junipero and South Ola Vista in Southwest San Clemente). Please respond by E-mail to let me know
if you can come or not.
