free the tolls - Pete gets Reg ink

5/7/07

Go PVN,

excellent ink in today's (Mon) Reg.

As the TCA begin new multi-Billion Toll Road merger rumblings, guess what they never mention - SoOC's throttled, deadly, freeway traffic that would be instantly relieved by the addition of 51-new SoCounty freeway miles - how?

Send the toll booths back to New Jersey.
It's more than possible - or do we wait until 2044, or 2067, or the 12th of never?

After all, the Golden Gate Bridge is still waiting to be free.
That failed promise is only 73 years old and counting.

Our toll roads are a Demonstration Project aka 'Test.'

Why not face the OC Traffic truth - declare Test over, buy back "our" 51-miles of taxpayer supported toll roads (Measure M$) NOW and "let our Freeway traffic flow."

It's doable.

Freeway flow - and adjacent empty toll roads, and or toll lanes (91) that we all pay for but can't afford to use, never seem to be mentioned in the same sentence.

Time for that to change,

Pete's done it, and the Reg printed it.

That's a start,

jer
